Self-Care During the Fall Season
The fall season is rolling in. The air is chilled, the leaves are warm colors of orange, yellow, and red, pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving, pumpkin baking, and warm sweaters are entering our season of autumn. This season has so much to offer us and self-care is important all day everyday. So, let's talk about what you can do to self-care during this lovely season!
Self - Care Outside:
Being out in nature is very important. Feeling the sun and inhaling the fresh air can do wonders for your state of being. Autumn also has such a lovely outdoor atmosphere. There is nice and cool-crisp air that allows you to bundle up and be comfortable while also appreciating mother nature and all that she provides.
Take a walk by yourself or with people that make you feel loved (family, friends, pets, etc.).
Have a picnic under the trees of falling leaves.
Bike around an area you haven’t been to before.
Carve pumpkins with people who make you laugh.
Lay under the stars.
Listen to music.
Shop at a unique small business/find some hidden gems where you live.
Go apple picking.
Self-Care Inside:
Although being outside is important, there are also a multitude of things you can do inside to bring joy, comfort, and self-love into your life.
Bake warm pies and muffins.
Read a cozy light-hearted book.
Journal.
Clean/organize a room/area.
Meditate/do yoga.
Take a relaxing at-home spa day.
Light candles to create a more fitting ambiance.
Have a movie night.
Play board games/card games.
Decorate for the season.
Watch Halloween movies.
There are so many ways to embrace the autumn season and use it to create a journey of self-love and care. You are and will always be deserving of love, forgiveness, happiness, comfort, and safety. Always continue trying new ways of self-care because something might work for you even if it doesn't seem like it. It’s important to care about others, but caring for and loving yourself comes first. Don’t give up, keep going, there will always be something or someone to pull you out of the darkness. Lights don’t go out unless you turn them off.
